With the introduction of the SL Series notebooks, Lenovo continues its trend of pushing the ThinkPad name out of its lofty perch and into more affordable territory. The 14.1-inch version bulks up a bit for the sake of keeping price low, but retains Lenovo’s signature ThinkPad durability and feel, along with competent performance for a business machine. But some minor issues still need to be ironed out.

The second one, when it came out of the box the CD drive did not work, so they replaced that, as well. After that, though, it has worked fine.

It's light, so it's easy to take wherever I need to go. The fingerprint scanner is nice and very easy to use. The automatic backup feature is great.

"I had a t41 before when i was in grad school and it lasted for 5 years before the motherboard broke... so i decided to get thinkpad again because of its durability. Getting a t400 was too pricey since i will just use the laptop for surfing and checking emails. So i decided to get the SL400 ... It is really cheap because it is already core 2 duo and i got it below five hundred .... when other brands like acer or hp sell over 500 dollars for a dual core processor... Since it is a thinkpad i believe this is a good brand and quality ... definitely a good buy for me!""
